This is another "fall through the floor" glitch. However, it is unlikely it will never again be replicated. It is unknown how or why it happened. When coming out of the blue pipe on sublevel 1, then running out the exit (in 3-D) while using Dashell, Mario suddenly went offscreen, and the screen was filled with a black void. Pressing left on the control pad only resulted in the screen scrolling further right. After several seconds, Mario appeared back onscreen, as if falling down a pit.
